Al Hebert
I started playing volleyball in grade 7.
During my high school volleyball years I participated in 4 provincial tournaments and won a silver and bronze.
In 2011 I participated on the Manitoba Francophone Provincial Team
In 2012 I was nominated provincial grad all-star. Named one of top 24 athletes in the province for A-AA-AAA.
After I graduated I went on to play 2 years in the MCAC for Les Rouges at St. Boniface College.
Then Started my coaching career…
My first year coaching was in 2014. I coached the Gabrielle-Roy girls varsity team. That year the Girls volleyball team qualified for provincials (first time in over 30 years.) I have continued to coach there.
Fast forward to the 2018/2019 season not only did we qualify for provincials but won a bronze medal. (A first ever in the school’s history that the girls volleyball team got to win a medal)
In that same season I was honored to be named volleyball Manitoba’s 2018 Highschool AA coach of the year.
Following that season I joined the Dynamo volleyball club and assisted with the 14u team.
I currently still play volleyball in the Winnipeg men’s league as well as the coed league!
I am in full swing of a new high school season and looking forward to joining the Dynamo club again.
